PULSE : MEMORY LOVE AND RESILIENCE

PULSE : MEMORY LOVE AND RESILIENCE

On June 12, 2016, 49 lives were taken at Pulse nightclub in Orlando. Nearly a decade later, the city continues working to ensure that those lives, the survivors and the wider LGBTQ+ community are never forgotten.

In October 2026, Orlando moved another step closer to creating a permanent Pulse Memorial. The project is entering its construction phase, with a guaranteed maximum price of approximately $12.6 million. The memorial has been shaped with input from Pulse families, survivors, members of the LGBTQ+ community and other Orlando residents.

The purpose of the memorial goes beyond creating a physical space. It is intended to preserve memory, honour the 49 people who were killed and provide a permanent place for reflection, remembrance and resilience.

Community organisations and partners have also contributed financial support to the project, reinforcing the message that Pulse remains part of Orlando’s collective memory and that the lives affected by the tragedy continue to matter.

For CACHY’S URBAN, stories like this belong in our cultural conversation because fashion, identity and community are connected. Pride is not only about celebration. It is also about memory, visibility, respect and standing against rejection and hate.

We remember the 49.

We honour the survivors.

We stand with the families.

LOVE IS LOVE.
